Investigators Research Awards Program"
Call For Abstracts
The COWC Young Investigators Research Awards
Program aims to provide educational and research support to trainees
interested in the area of cancer related illnesses and disorders.
Trainees at any level, confirmed by letter of training from their
program director, are eligible to submit an abstract of their work.
Abstracts presented at previous meetings, but not in full publication,
are allowed for submission.
Abstracts will be presented during a
special Young Investigators Poster Session,
Friday, February 24th, 2012.
All travel, hotel, and registration costs
for attendance at the COWC meeting will be covered for Young Investigators
selected for abstract presentation.
Deadline for submission is January 9, 2012

1. The application form, including abstract

3. Letter of confirmation of training from your program director

Educational
Objectives:
After successfully completing this continuing
medical educational program, participants should be able to:
Have a better understanding of how to treat patients with biological
agents, and chemotherapy through case study workshop interaction.
Understand the emerging role of biological agents, especially monoclonal
antibodies, as treatment options for lymphoma, gastrointestinal,
lung and breast cancers.
Learn current and future treatment options of combining biologic
agents with chemotherapy as a more targeted approach for optimizing
patient care.
This educational session is intended
for medical oncologists from academic cancer agencies and the communities,
hematologists, radiation oncologists, internal medicine residents,
fellows, general practitioners in oncology, and other health care
providers who focus in providing patient care for lymphoma, gastrointestinal,
lung and breast cancers.
The session will be a combination of didactic presentations followed
by case study workshops.
